View Full Version : Tailenders!!!
Is it me or are tailenders realy hard to get out in this game? Didnt have to much of a problem with them in the last one, but They always seem to get 20s and 30s against me sometimes more! I tried bowling full at them... and bowling at there weakness. Anyone know the best place to bowl at them and what aggression and things as well.
Thanks!

Still experimenting with bowling settings, but I can tell you that what works in previous versions doesn't necessarily work in ICC2008.
Bowling a side out in FC/Test matches seems to be a lot harder.

Damn right !, it is difficult to bowl sides out twice in first class matches in the new version, ive managed to sort my batting tactics out with my Notts side and consistantly get 350+, but my bowling is all over the shop even with sidebottom/broad etc, my main problem being bowling the opposition in the second innings.

I'd say that is quite realistic if you are using English bowlers...;)

i fully agree with degree of difficulty bowling out tailenders
i started an international career as Austrlia and my tailenders consisted or Lee, M.Johnson, S.Clark and P.Siddle. In one game Lee and Johnson both scored a 100
and in another lee and clark put on a record partnership of 204 with clark scoring 88 and lee another ton
im not complaining seeing it was my team but it incredibly difficult.
also its impossible to pick a spinner becasue they are all atroushish, casson, mcgain, hauritz they are no good in this game, and i noticed that all countrys dont play spinners, with exception to england and Monty Panesar

Australian spinners in real life are atrocious currently.
I do agree that Mitchell Johnson is too good a batsman for my liking though, as well as some others.

All the Australian spinners currently are a bit rubbish.
Australian Spin Bowlers FC Averages
Beau Casson 40.43
Dan Cullen 41.50
Cullen Bailey 46.36
Nathan Hauritz 49.57
Scary thing is Casson, Cullen and Hauritz have al played Test Cricket!
Bryce McGain 34.75 (But he is 37 and only played 17 FC games, I think about 11 on ICC)
