I'm suffering a serious problem. The game is running, but incredibly slowly. I'm running it from a laptop and using vista. Tried it on a desktop computer which uses xp and runs at normal speed. Had the same problem with ICC 3 aswell. Been looking around for any solutions, but it seems asthough I'm the only one with this problem. Any suggestions?

The game is "choppy," on my laptop :) Maybe try closing down programs which aren't exactly important :) I always close down AVG, it improves it.

Are you playing ICC 2008 in windowed version? Or full screen?

Also, make sure you've got all the latest drivers for your machine:
Press the window button (bottom left)
Click on control panel
Select "check for updates" (bottom left)
Select "Check for updates" (top right)
If there are any available "optional hardware updates" - install them.
Other optional updates may also be helpful.

thanks for your help guys. Been closing down a few needless programs that were running using the task manager, its a little faster, but not fast enough to enjoy the game! Doesn't make a difference to the speed in either windowed or full screen mode. Thanks anyway. Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated. Cheers!

What are the specifications of your laptop?
Which OS are you running Vista or XP?

Almost identical to my laptop. Unfortunately, this is one of the problems with laptops. With a top spec laptop you'd be fine, but they do tend to need specs a lot higher than a desktop would for the same game.
Have you ran a complete scan of your laptop with your Anti-Virus? Might be an idea to see if you have something resource hungry lurking in your laptop. Also running a scan with your spyware software (if you have one, which you should).
When I get ICC08 I'll run it on my laptop, which is almost identical in specs to yours, and see how it runs. :)

If your computer is running a scheduled virus scan (including Windows defender) or automated indexing (Google desktop or Windows desktop search) this can cause problems. Good idea to pause these while you're playing. Also - full screen mode generally has a much higher frame-rate.
Turning off your mail and chat programs improves full-screen performance.
