I've just had a run of success with Essex, who arguably have some of the worst bowlers on the county scene. (Or at least they are for me!)

Who are you playing as?

If I am struggling with a bowler, and you don't have anyone to replace him, I try to get him to bowl on one side of the wicket and pack that side with fielders. Don't be afraid to mix up length, using the field editor helps too, because the most defensive field in the menu hasn't got many on the boundary.

With my SLA spinner I bowl over the wicket to right handers on a leg stump line, very defensive but he never goes over 3 an over.

bowling first
2 best bowlers 5 each on 3 bars
2 more seamers for 5 each on2 bars. Use a spinner if the opening bowlers don't take any wickets (you need wickets in the middle overs to keep the rr down)
bowl on 2 bars until about the 35-40 over depending on how the batsmen are going.
1 bar or 0 bars in the last 10 overs depending on # of wickets and the batsmen
