With the release delayed, I actually attempted to play the new cricket coach tonight. A truly terrible experience. Never again.

Same, its pretty rubbish really, i was england. Against the west indies, i managed 220 in a test match 190 in an odi but i got 270 against pakistan in a T20
But hopefully ICC09 is gunna be better than that game :)

People use Cricket Coach as a comparison in terms of their depth of leagues, but you just have to look at it to see exactly why we don't have overseas leagues yet. When New South Wales sign Damien Martyn within seconds of me starting up my new game, and WA sign Glenn McGrath, it shows you just how hard it is to get so many leagues working properly.

And it has many bugs , yesterday i encountered 2 to 3 crashes in just 3 hours , cudnt load a game which i saved , it crashes to the desktop

I downloaded the game because I was so gutted about the ICC delay. and it was appauling, rubbish and not worth a penny. I'd rather wait a decade for ICC than have to pay for Cricket Coach.

CC07 when fully patched was a perfectly playable game.
CC09 will probably be better. However, having played the 3.02 Beta myself I concur that currently it is unplayable (on my system at least) and what does happen before it stops or crashes (or fails to load a save) is so unrealistic as to ruin any immersion I have in the game pretty quickly.
However. Oli is working on it, and I'm pretty sure that in a few days it will be a very fine game indeed.
I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling that it was put out perhaps a week or two early, maybe because of the forthcoming ICC game.
They are really quite different games though, and by the time the Ashes start for real I think they will both be worth it :)

The thing is ICC series is just taking its last breath (unless they start it again from scratch to include new features which again will incorporate bugs ) on the other hand Cricket is not fully matured yet but still ahead of ICC in terms of the base engine its so flexible that Oli can include any feature in to the game (had a personal chat with him regarding some matters) how ever the there are some issue regarding the match engine/crashes and crap regens along with the absence of proper training and development feature(which is why I play ICC games) once these get sorted out I practically see no competition b/w Cricket Coach 10 and ICC10 (as most probably it will include new leagues which is again not a major feature) The only way for ICC games to survive is to dump their crap design (which cannt even be made to include proper cricket stats) and start a new one but keeping the absolutely great match engine

I think you'll find that we are far from taking our last breaths. Losing Empire was a massive setback but we are now in more control of the future of the game and are planning several main changes. Frankly, I don't see much constructive in your posts lately, dumping our "crap design" will have no bearing on the features we can include.

If its not a crap design than why you cannt code different surnames and forenames for each and every country separately?(its been same since first ICC game) Just like Cricket Coach and FM 09 etc ,why you cannt include career strike rates why all the regens develop at same rates?(I hope this has changed in 09 now) why we cannt have more stats like CC09? why there cannt be any hall of fame sort of thing for retired players these are not out of world features and can easily be implemented if game initial design allows it ,I am not saying to stop making ICC games but plz just get rid of the initial crappy code.

Why would it have to be that the reason we haven't done those things mentioned is down to the code?
Regens don't develop at same rates either, never have as far as I know.

Muhammed Saad, you are making little sense here.
If all regens developed the same, it wouldnt matter who we pick. But it clearly does.

Bro you didnt get my point ,the development of regens is same for all players but what separate them is the initial talent attribute (say like batsmen with 20 years of age and 1400 batting skill points will always develop in to a batsmen with 1650-1700 skill points at 24 if you keep giving him technique training for 4 years similarly if a batsmen with 1000 batting skill will always peek at 1350 if you continuously giving him technique training ,what I meant to say that cannt be it little more varied in terms of growth rate? I specifically posted my idea regarding player growths in previous thread) currently there is no use of training as you know that Initial better player will always remain better than Initial crap player now tell me where is the fun in that???

You only know that if you have used the editor though. The fun is in finding that out yourself.

Oh they certainly do with little or no varation! I have done 10 years of testing using the ICC 08 editor ,I put Ahmed Shehzad batting skill at 1200 initially and Azeem Ghumman at 1250 after 4 years Ahmed Shehzad batting skill was 1559 and Azeem Ghumman was 1614 which means the gap of 50 was pretty much there.

But its not realistic as some players are really crap at initial stage of their career but can later develop in to magnificent players (just like Rahul Dravid) currently this element is missing from the game.

The gap of 50 has CHANGED so how is it them developing at the same rate?

yeah its now 56 lol ,the difference of 6 will not have a impact on batsmen attributes ,it would have been more cool if that different were like 200-300 to see its more effect ,certainly not a harder thing to implement as it will just require couple of extra codes.
