reverse swing

has any one found the likes of simon jones and flintoff to pick up quite a few wickets when the balls 50/60/70 overs old? Flintoff just got me 4 wickets in 3 overs when the ball was about 60 overs old so just wondered if reverse swing has been incoparated into the game?

It'd be might difficult to judge if it was reverse, impossible infact. Unless the next game incorporates some kind of "bowling preference," as they do with batting.

I dont think its impossible to find out. Check out the ball tracker option and take a look at the wicket taking deliveries.

It would be too much to expect from the engine for reverse swing to move later than conventional, but if you look at the sort of swing, if Simon Jones is swinging in, that is propably reverse.

You might like to compare Freddie with a RM bowler too, as reverse swing occurs at high speeds.

Well I have found that Ten Doeschate is dangerous with the ball (the only time he is, might I add!) when the ball is 60 overs old, it will swing too. It often happens when it doesn't swing first up too. Maybe it is reverse, maybe it isn't. Who knows, probably only Chris does.

I added a reverse swing factor for fast bowlers. In previous versions they had a big new ball advantage but were not able swing the old ball as much as medium pacers.

I'm not getting much time to write (or lurk) on this forum. I'll try to look at the various threads when I get a chance.

I like the commentator’s attempts to explain reverse swing:

When you hold the ball this way, the rough side creates air turbulence, which swings the ball in that direction. Later on you can turn the ball around, and the ball swings the other way because... erm... cough cough... voodoo?

Sorry for being a girlie with a girlie question, but I cannot see where to 'apply' reverse 'you talk about (or in fact anything to a bowler other than aggression and direction)
Can somebody please help a newbie girl please?

Welcome to the forum Carole, there is no way to apply reverse swing in the game at present but if you are struggling with your bowling, use the search function on the menu bar.....as i believe their was a hints and tips thread somewhere around, and a few other post regarding bowling help.

I agree with this.

In practice Jonesy (sicknote) is very very effective with a ball over 50 overs old.

So effective in fact that England snap him up and get him injured in double quick time :p
