I thought ties in 20/20 were dealt with via a Super Over. Seeing as I can't follow the County Comp religiously, is this how it is done in England FC, or is it something unique to ICC?
Also, how could I win with a higher run rate, when both teams have the same Run Rate when scores are level after the same amount of overs?
Can someone clarify this for me?
Thanks,
H

The only logical explanation i can think of is that run rates are not compared at the end of 20 overs but probably at the 5 or 10 over mark...

In one-day, 50 over matches, I'm pretty sure that the run-rate is calculated (or was) after 15 overs, when the old fielding restrictions were over. Bearing that in mind, it would probably be calculated after 6 overs.
I do know that this only happens if the sides finish on the same amount of runs and wickets.
EDIT:- That was mainly a guess, but according to current ECB rules and regulations, I was right.
In the event of a tie in a quarter-final, semi-final or final,
if the result cannot be decided by 6.1.2, (which talks about the number of wickets lost,) the winner shall
be the team with the higher score after 6 overs, or if still
equal after 5 overs, or if still equal after 4 overs etc.

Fair enough, thanks for clarifying that. I'm sure one of the Admin's can confirm if this is what its based on, but judging by the wording I'd say it is.
It is strange, in Australia, the KFC Big Bash (20/20 Comp) uses the Super Over in any match (Round Robin, Final, etc.). I wasn't aware different comps might have different rules
