Just started a new game as india, but I selected normal instead of easy. I knew it would be more difficult but this is just ridiculous.
Won the T20 world cup, I then went on to draw 2-2 with the West Indies when it should have been a comfortable victory.
Just now, I lost the ODIs against Australia, 7-0 IN INDIA.
Cue me thinking WTF?!?!?!?!
This is basically due to the fact that my bowlers don't stop getting slogged (Aus got 395 in the last match) and my batsmen can't hit to save their lives (all out for 160).
A way to slightly improve the bowling scene is to set all my bowlers to accuracy/defensive bowler training, but this only helps a little, and my batting is still woeful.
Also, I've seen screenies on here of people with 99% technique coaching effect, mine never goes above 0%?
How can I win a match?
THANKS

I don't know exactly how you're playing, but I've seen this kind of thing on here before. The way you've written suggests you haven't played on normal mode before, and many people do struggle to adjust as you need completely different strategies. First of all, tinker with your OD field settings to make them more defensive, paying attention to the various powerplay settings, and this should help your bowlers. For the batsmen, the lower totals to chase should let you play less aggressively. Possibly the most important thing is that you stick with your team for a while; as wise men have said, form is temporary and class is permanent.

That's because technique training takes quite a while before it has a meaningful effect. Normally you have to have a player on accuracy/defensive training for about 150 days before the game tells you that a player has improved. If you're an international coach, you should be putting most of your players onto practice training, unless they're under the age of 25 or have a technical flaw that you want to iron out.

There is no "technique coaching effect" in ICC. The "coaching effect" field records the effect of practice training, not technique training.

It almost worked.
In my first test match against Sri Lanka, I lost by 300 odd runs :(
In the first innings of the second test, I got 426 :D:D
But they got 499 in reply and got me all out for 148
Meaning they needed 75 to win
It's incredibly frustrating, they got 499, then I got 373, then got them all out for just 163, so needed around 280 to win. I was 120-2, simple victory yes? all out for 230

Yeah but Anant, I distinctly remember you having this same problem when 09 first came out, and after discussing, it was revealed that you probably do need to get the hang of fielding and technique/game modes before challenging the Normal mode. I'd say play on Easy until you get the hang of all that, and develop certain processes and mindsets for certain conditions. It will also help you identify what situations need you to play in what conditions (ie. experience).
Otherwise, (a bit tongue in cheek) it could be you are playing with India :P

im sorry but my 7 year old sister would be able 2 win on easy level. all i can say is that your tactics are floored somewhere. i can give some tips if u need them but overall play on ICC is self-taught. its hard 2 explain to someone what to do as there is so many different siutations.
as for India i just played against them as Sri Lanka. their batting was terrible i have to say. They didnt score above 200 in an innings in the first 2 tests and only Sehwag got a 50. Sehwag then got 120 in the 3rd test as India got a what by then was a somewhat remarkable 330. They got then 227 in the 2nd innings, so India averaged around 215 an innings throughout the series!!!
as for bowling they werent to bad at that, mainly due 2 the fact my team just couldnt seem to play harbajan. hes worth a go as he takes plenty of wickets.

I have just started playing the newest version of the game, which I'm pretty stoked with, although I would love to see a ODI & T20 section for stats & records, not just for Tests.
I'm playing as South Africa on normal settings, not easy, I beat Australia in a 5 matches ODI series 3-2, then won the T20 World Cup against Australia in the final, then drew a 2 T20 Match series 1-1 against England, won a 5 match series against England 3-2 and then won a 4 Test series 1-0, up against India now which could be interesting.
